A submersible pump is a single unit with pump direct coupled to the motor in a single unit, designed to be submerged in the fluid to be pumped.
The main advantage of this pump style over an above ground pump is that there isn’t the same problem with priming of the pump or cavitation while in operation.
You can have simpler single impellor pumps for greater flow or multi-stage pumps for pumping up greater distances such as borehole pumps. Single stage pumps are used for drainage, sewage pumping, general industrial pumping and slurry pumping while multi-stage pumps are used for borehole pumping of water for residential, commercial, municipal and rural and also in oil wells.
Common uses include..
- Storm water pits
- Sewerage pits and mains
- Council infrastructure
- Leisure parks
